The West Hartford location has an immediate opening for a Materials Manager to lead, organize, direct, and control activities related to the planning and execution of all material functions for electronic and mechanical fuel controls in the Aerospace market.

Responsibilities include the following:

? Leads Master Scheduling and shop floor material functions including Shipping and Receiving, Stores, and Inventory control.

? Oversees all activities related to material management of a product, from planning through delivery of completed unit.

? Major contributor and supporter of Sales, Operations (S&OP) and Inventory Planning.

? Prepares standard work instructions/procedures detailing the material management and procurement process. Ensures inventory control techniques, procedures, and best practices are followed in support of all required audits.

? Organizes, supervises, and directs the work of material planners and other supply personnel engaged in ordering, receiving, issuing, and delivering all product requirements.

? Support New Product Introduction (NPI) teams, proposal development, and subcontracting opportunities.

? Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepares market analysis.

? Calculates capacity and demand variation using simulation analysis.

? Will design, implement, manage, and monitor performance-reporting systems to meet company goals. Maintains inventory integrity and implement cycle count monitoring.

? Coordinates with Finance, Business, and Engineering concerning Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory management. Arranges for disposal.

? Support MRP and lean strategies such as Kanbans, Consignment, and VMI etc. where applicable.

? Lead/participate in Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events that will eliminate waste and result in significant benefits throughout the Supply Chain.

? Other duties may be assigned.The successful candidate will have a Bachelors degree in a related major and five to 10 years experience in a manufacturing/aerospace environment.

Must have the ability to calculate figures for financial reporting and capacity plans and the ability to read blue print drawings and electronic schematics.

JDE ERP system experience and/or APICS desirable.
