Project Manager at Kirby Risk, Peoria, IL
Basic Function: Manage construction projects from quotation to final billing for contractor
customers to ensure project accuracy and customer satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to):
- Manages and maintains all projects through the virtual job folders on the ‘SPS’ sight for project tracking, billing, delivery dates or special requirements.
- Researches and provides price quotes for customers to use in bid preparation.
- Provides customers with submittals, shipping requirements and manufacturer information.
- Manages all available resources such as vendor catalogs, web research and vendor communication to solve project discrepancies.
- Develops and maintains constructive relationships with all Kirby Risk departments, business units and vendor partners to ensure project requirements are satisfied.
- Cross-sells, up-sells, and assists customers in sourcing additional products when appropriate.
- Demonstrates professionalism when representing the company in all communications with internal and external customers.
- Builds and maintains relationships with customer key buying influences, while providing information about order status and receiving customer feedback for Kirby Risk management.
- Maintains communication with Account Managers for bids, open orders, and customer contacts.
- Supports corporate marketing initiatives through counter days, customer appreciation days, lunch and learns, employee training, and effective product launches in alignment with all Kirby Risk programs.
- Provides back-up for other areas as assigned.
- Monitors and manages individual job queues, open order reports, and return goods queue.
- Works within the policies and procedures of the company.
- Sustains housekeeping standards in accordance with Branch appearance guidelines.
- Maintains Branch to internal safety standards and OSHA compliance.
- In Addition to the Essential Functions and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments while maintaining regular and timely attendance.
Education/Skills/Experience Required:
- College level coursework and/or equivalent 4 + years relevant work experience
- 3+ years electrical products sales experience; thorough knowledge of electrical products and their applications
- Knowledge of construction basics; accurately read product catalogs’, price sheets, blueprints and specifications.
- Strong written & verbal communication, interpersonal and customer contact skills
- Demonstrates computer skills and aptitude; Microsoft Office preferred
- Strong telephone etiquette, attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities
- Effectively set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to perform and retain various skill related tasks, training and operations
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to push pull carry up to 50 lbs.
- Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone;
- Employees are frequently required to sit for extended periods of time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- This position will be working in an office environment, utilizing typical office equipment.
- Occasional travel required
